OpenSUSE 的默认桌面环境定为KDE

openSUSE 在下一版中将把KDE作为首选安装的桌面环境。

这个决定可以在周四的由产品经理发起的邮件列表中看到。

尽管SUSE Linux 曾经是KDE的主要支持者，但是自从Novell 在 2003 年收购XiMian 并在 2004 年推出 SUSE Linux 9.1 之后，就把 KDE 和 Gnome 同等看待。

当  openSUSE 11.2 发布（约在 2009年11月）的时候，DVD版 的安装程序将把KDE作为默认选项。虽然这只是一个小的改变，但要知道很多人都是按默认选项安装的。

但是，openSUSE 的开发者称这个决定不会冷落 Gnome 或者降低 Gnome 版本的质量。
